Livspace service: Kitchen renovation
Persis Chhapkhanawalla decided to renovate her 18-year-old kitchen for obvious reasons! To get a more appealing space and to fit in all her appliances smoothly. As she always yearned for a white kitchen, her brief was clear! An all-white kitchen from the cabinets to the countertop was what she sought.
When she found out about Livspace online, she contacted us and met her designer Sapna Solanki. As Persis was sure about what she wanted, the designer just had to bring her dream kitchen to reality. The transformation is absolutely stunning owing to how bright and beautiful the kitchen now is.
Before & After
Although the earlier kitchen had plenty of storage, what it lacked was an appropriate placement of appliances. Mrs Chhapkhanawalla, wanted that changed on priority, Thus, she opted for a design that fit built-in appliances seamlessly. Even the refrigerator was given a cabinet to make it blend to the setting.
This kitchen is a seamless blend of form and functionality. Although compact, it packs a lot of storage, modern facilities, built-in appliances and an appeasing palette. There is ample space for movement, giving the kitchen an airy appearance.
A Breezy Space
A balance of open shelves with closed cabinets was essential in making the kitchen appear bright and airy. The small kitchen doesn’t feel cramped with too many cabinets as a result of this. Sapna also offered handy accessories like towel holders, sink with drainboard, pull-outs and more!
The mechanisms used also make cooking effortless with pull-up shutters, soft close mechanism for cabinets and drawers, and branded hardware and hinges that last long. The knobs were specially picked up Persis to make the kitchen stand-out without overwhelming the appearance.
The kitchen transformation, in essence, brings together aesthetics and functionality in a Scandinavian design. Ease of cooking is not the only perk, the maintenance is also a breeze. “The G4 stone countertop is an anti-staining material and I absolutely face no problems with maintenance,” says Persis.
The flooring was also changed to give a beautiful contrast to the white kitchen. The anti-scratch acrylic finish for the cabinets gives it a lovely gloss that amplifies the brightness in the space.
“Persis knew what she wanted and all I had to do was translate her ideas into a functional space. Her warm and friendly nature was an added bonus to completing the project with ease.”
